Rosa is a little caterpillar with a big dream: she wants to go to the sun. It seems impossible, but she won’t let anything stop her. She calls in the help of two friends: the philosophical, booksmart eagle owl and the kind, no-nonsense beaver. Because she is determined to find a way.

Ik Wil Naar de Zon (I Want to Go to the Sun) is a book for all ages, written by Alba van der Velden and Catharinus van den Berg. It is a symbolic tale about mysticism, the search for spiritual fulfillment, and the doubts that arise along the way. It was released on 1 February 2024 via Brandaan publishing house.

For the project, I illustrated the book using linocut techniques. I also designed the cover and lay-out. For now it will only be released in Dutch, but an English translation is currently in the works.
